Two Akhentek music plugins: VibeForge Studio for AI-assisted composition and production using a musician’s own studio tools, and Codon64 for turning DNA/RNA codons into musical structure.
Two distinct plugins
The Music Tool Lab is the umbrella for Akhentek’s experimental production software. It now presents the two plugin paths by their proper product names: VibeForge Studio and Codon64.
VibeForge Studio is the studio-production plugin: a fast creative partner for generating, routing, rendering, and iterating musical sketches using the producer’s existing instruments, effects, DAW templates, and workflow.
Codon64 is the genomic music plugin: a codon-wheel instrument that translates DNA/RNA sequences into MIDI, rhythm, bass movement, melodic motifs, and mutation/FX triggers.
They can eventually feed each other, but they are not the same product. One is a studio composition and production forge; the other is a genetic-code music instrument.
Plugin 1: VibeForge Studio
Purpose: help a musician turn prompts, references, and studio preferences into usable musical sketches.
VibeForge Studio creates chords, bass, leads, drums, guitar guides, arrangement sections, routing notes, and render-ready project material, then adapts those ideas to the producer’s existing plugin library and DAW workflow.
Plugin 2: Codon64
Purpose: turn biological sequence data into musical architecture.
Codon64 reads DNA/RNA as codons and maps those codons into a 64-step musical wheel. The output becomes MIDI lanes for bass, lead, mutation/FX triggers, and other studio material.
How they differ
- VibeForge Studio: prompt-to-sketch, DAW workflow, plugin-library routing, render iteration.
- Codon64: sequence-to-MIDI, codon mapping, sonification, science-art composition.
How they connect
Both plugins create musical raw material. VibeForge Studio is the broader production system that can arrange, route, render, and develop ideas with the tools already installed in someone’s studio. Codon64 is a specialized generator that can feed strange, meaningful sequence-derived patterns into that production pipeline.
Product direction
The long-term vision is a small suite of Akhentek tools. VibeForge Studio handles composition workflow and production execution. Codon64 creates biologically derived musical material. Together, they can become a distinctive creative system — but the website should make their separation obvious from the first glance.
